Nalini has always enjoyed
painting on canvas. But to create three dimentionally
into acrylic has been a highly elevating pleasure
for her. She loves nature, flowers especially,
and has studied them very closely. In her
pieces, the flowers never fade. It is of utmost
importance to her that her flowers are full
of life and always looking fresh. For that
she goes deep into studying the compositions
of the flowers. Once she was creating a bunch
of tube roses, out of memory and just couldn't
visualize the leaves. She waited for 2-3 months
for her phoolwala (local florist) to get her
the flowers, as they were not in season then,
to complete her piece.
The total output of work
has been about 500 Nos. exhibits. Of these,
a collection of around 100 Nos. is available
with the artist. The rest have been dispersed
all over the world in the last 40 years.
